This book was written at the request of members of the Council of Churches for Lesotho and follows the previous book also written for them "Christ in AIDS". It is designed to be a tool that Churches and Christian organisations can use to train and equip pastoral carers who in turn will train families and communities to care for those infected and affected by the HIV virus. It is essentially a training manual written from an ecumenical Christian perspective, by an Anglican/Methodist and a Roman Catholic. Both their similarities and their differences connect them as authors. They share share a Christian background and the conviction that everyone can grow and develop and find hope in their life even in the face of a life threatening illness.
