A teaching document published by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. Its purpose is to encourage members of the Catholic community to look upon dialogue as an essential part of their Christian witness in Britain today. Rooted in the authority of revealed truth recorded and interpreted in the Scriptures, and the teaching of the Second Vatican Council and the Popes, the Bishops reflect on dialogue with believers of other religions as a contemporary challenge for Catholics within their local communities. Having reflected on the changing face of Britain today, the Bishops explain what dialogue means in the teaching of the Catholic Church. They then provide guidance for the more pratical aspects of interreligious dialogue for the Catholic, with examples of good practice from the Catholic community within England and Wales.
