Open the Frontiers

Towards the end of this book Cardinal Suenens quotes the words of Pope John Paul II in St Peter's Square at the inauguration of his papacy: 'Open the frontiers of states to his saving power, open the economic systems and the political systems, the vast realms of culture, civilisation and development...' These words symbolise the spiritual challenge and the hopes of the author's long life as a priest, bishop, cardinal.
