Anne Mary Redi was born into a noble family in Arezzo, Italy. In 1764, at the age of 17, she entered the Carmel of St Teresa in Florence. The following March she received the habit, with the name Teresa Margaret of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Her life in Carmel did not consist of being the author of mystical writings, but of giving witness, through great acts of humility and charity, dedicating herself to the every need of her community, and to the Church through prayer and penance. She died of peritonitis on March 7th, 1770, aged 22.
