Abbot Parry relates, in his forward, how it was almost by chance that he attended a charismatic prayer meeting and how profoundly influenced he was by the experience. He has written this book in order to introduce ordinary christians to the charismatic renewal movement and he has attempted to do so by providing a scheme of fifty days of meditation, prayer and spiritual renewal. The aim is simple and always the same - to open the heart and the mind to the Holy Spirit. The charismatic movement arouses extremes of enthusiasm and scepticism - it is not always easy to expreience what charismatic renewal is really about. This book sets out to answer this need. It may be used as a form of private retreat and may also be usd by prayer groups.
