Saint Titus Brandsma

Titus Brandsma was born in Bolsward, The Netherlands, in 1881 and joined the Carmelite Order as a young man.
Ordained in 1905, he earned a doctorate in philosophy and taught at various schools, eventually becoming a professor and Rector Magnificus at the Catholic University of Nijmegen. A professional journalist, he was appointed ecclesiastical advisor to Catholic journalists in 1935.
