A symbol of the Hospital of St Cross, Winchester, which is said to be England’s oldest charitable institution, founded by Henry of Blois between 1132 and 1136. The olive wood cross was created by hand in the village of Beit Sahour near Bethlehem. The natural markings in the wood and its final shape are unique for each piece. This cross may be used as a a decoration, a devotional focus or even as an unusual coaster!
